Craig wrote on Friday, December 20, 2019 (PST):
  • Memories of the good old days, however I'm very happy that tech has gotten better those old acs really sucked even new nice didnt matter rolling junk heap really.
Mark wrote on Sunday, December 22, 2019 (PST):
  • Have a family owned WD45 as well that got many a sunburn farming as a youngster. Currently oldest son and I restoring, hoping ours looks as nice as yours!
Tom OBrien wrote on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 (PST):
  • Dear Craig, Surely you have better things to do that refer to the WD/WD45 as "rolling junk heaps' ?? If people weren't buying them back in the day, they wouldn't have made 250,000 of them. You have a nice day and I sure hope you don't drive one of those "obsolete when brand new" 2-bangers.
Craig wrote on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 (PST):
  • My So called obsolète twin cylinder B would out work that anyday.
Tom OBrien wrote on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 (PST):
  • Well, I guess if you say so. Those of us who really know tractors realize a model "A" can't keep up to a WD45, let alone a "B". I could tell you a story about when a neighbor was filling silo for my Dad with his "G" and one-row Fox chopper. The corn was so good that Fall (1964) that the big brawny G couldn't handle it in certain spots in the field. Of course, no live PTO made things even worse. So, they put Dad's WD45 on the chopper and even tho 1st gear was a little faster than 1st gear in the G, the live power feature wasn't ever needed. I'm sure you'll never believe it, so why try to convince you. Merry Christmas !!
Craig wrote on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 (PST):
  • Sounds a little exaggerated honestly, more like you were a little boy at the time and dont remember just exactly how it was. And now youve reimagined reality.
Tom OBrien wrote on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 (PST):
  • I was 10. I remember it pretty clearly, as the owner of the "G" was married to Mom's first cousin. He was a bit embarrassed over the whole deal, but that's the way it was. Like I said, an "A" doesn't compare to a WD45, so your "B" is woefully short. But anyway, enjoy your Christmas.
Craig wrote on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 (PST):
  • 10 ha. So just a little kid standing around with the men trying to be cool ok....nice fantasy
Tom OBrien wrote on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 (PST):
  • A fantasy is thinking (and believing) a B John Deere will do the work of a WD-45.
Craig wrote on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 (PST):
  • Merely fact. A fantasy is thinking an ac is better than John Deere. Why ive seen a John Deere M out pull a wc.
Big David wrote on Friday, December 27, 2019 (PST):
  • Yep JDs always outworked the bigger ACs. Folks just cant stand yi admit it but its the truth.
Johnie wrote on Friday, December 27, 2019 (PST):
  • Big davod sounds like a big bull shidder. Aint no gol durn b jd out pull any wd 45.

  • Tractor looks darn good. I'm having my 1955 wd45 restored with a 2-14 rollover plow.
Craig wrote on Saturday, December 28, 2019 (PST):
  • Still won't look as good as my JDs do
Jc wrote on Sunday, December 29, 2019 (PST):
  • Allis Chalmers never worked as hard Deere s do
Craig wrote on Sunday, December 29, 2019 (PST):
  • Well and thats the thing folks are stubborn and refuse to admot it.
Jc wrote on Sunday, December 29, 2019 (PST):
  • Ive junked so many wds its nuts. Problem I've had they're not worth much nice or not
Craig wrote on Sunday, December 29, 2019 (PST):
  • Were as JDs hold value pretty good.

  • Well there was a lot of difference in G john Deere's, if it had original pistons, orginal compression, i think the Allis would get the best of it, but they had only about a 4.5 compression ratio, a stock 45 Allis had 43 hp, the G wasn't listed, but a 70 gas only had 50, so i believe it!
